Evorel Conti Help and Advice Please!
« on: September 05, 2025, 08:58:29 PM »

Hi Everyone
I'm really hoping for some words of wisdom here. I first started on an HRT Conti tablet a few years ago (can't remember the name now!), and it was great. No problems whatsoever, but I was advised to come off it due to my age. First off, I was prescribed Sandrena gel plus Utrogestan. Lots of issues with bloating, spotting etc. Eventually I had to cut the oestrogen dose down to 0.5mg and things improved. Problem came when I couldn't get hold of it and switched to Oestrogel. Again, seemed an overload of oestrogen so cut down to 1 pump rather than 2, then started doing 2 pumps every other day etc. My GP was aware of all this. Very swollen tender boobs and spotting/bleeding issues, sometimes quite heavy. I thought a lot of this was where I was messing about with the dose. In between all this I had a scan and everything was fine.
I decided I'd had enough of it and was all for throwing in the towel, but changed surgery and am on Evorel Conti patches. Getting spotting issues every two to three weeks (now into month 3/4) plus extremely sore tender breasts. I am convinced oestrogen is too high and asked if I could have a blood test but was told 'no'. I know this isn't right and I'm fed up of the bloating and weight gain too and dull headache I constantly have. I don't think you're supposed to cut these patches in half and feel like I'm running out of options.
Should I go private? I'm at my wits' end. Spotting started again this evening. Has anyone else had these kind of problems?
Thanks!

:welcomemm:  none of us should have 2 go privately but sometimes it is necessary.

Age should no longer be a requisite 4 women to stop/alter a regime!

Hopefully some1 will be along with advice.

Hi Dancemum,

I'm on Femseven Conti combi patches and cut them in half as I can't tolerate a whole patch. I'm sitting here typing this with 2 quarters on, one on each hip.  ;D I don't see why that wouldn't work with Evorel Conti, I've read reviews from women who do just that and are OK.

In the early days I even cut them in quarters and I still get huge benefits (and admittedly side effects, but fewer). I've been on them for 5 months now. The huge swollen boobs are horrible as was the migraine. It's all stopped now.
