Everol Conti
« on: August 24, 2025, 09:36:23 AM »

Hi in need of some advice. Had sub total hysterectomy 2018. Started hrt in 2021, gp asked for advice from gyne and they came back with three months of Everol Sequi if no bleed switch to Everol 50. For three years been fine on that regime. Then I had to see a gyne consultant for a different issue and he wanted to change me to Everol Conti due to the fact he didn’t know how much ‘stump had been left behind’ so I changed to Conti. Two months in now and since three days into being in it I’ve had dreadful anxiety, low mood, terrible bloating and just really don’t feel myself. Went to GP who then wrote to gyne to explain that I wanted to switch back to Everol 50 but she’s not heard anything back. But I feel so awful I’ve made the decision with the GP to just switch back without their say so. Can’t pick up Everol 50 till after bank holiday. Honestly this anxiety is terrible, I’ve always suffered with it but never to this extent. Everyday is a battle right now. Has anyone else felt like this on Conti as the anxiety is making me question everything. Two months ago I didn’t feel this bad I’m just at my wits end.

The obvious first step is to change back to evorel sequi and see how you are. But it's also possible you've had a drop in your own oestrogen levels and the symptoms are from oestrogen deficiency. Evorel sequi only comes in 50 mcg so if this is the case you'd have to change to a 75 oestrogen only patch (or gel or spray) with a separate progestogen. Evorel conti being the cause doesn't quite add up because the conti patches are the same ones you get with evorel sequi which you've been able to tolerate for two weeks at a time so side effects after 3 days would be unexpected. Did you bleed on sequi or have endometriosis?Just wondering if progesterone is required at all.
You're not alone with your symptoms, apart from bloating I have all of them without hrt. Anxiety is the pits, it wrecks your life.

Do you mean you were using Evorel Sequi ( oestrogen and progesterone ) or Evorel 50 ( just oestrogen ) ?

I was on just Everol 50 for three years after the trial of Sequi for three months to see if any bleeding from the possible stump left behind from sub total hysterectomy and I didn’t have any bleeding so my GP went on the advice from gyne that I’m ok on Everol 50 which I was do no well on until a different gyne told me I needed to be on Conti, so one says one thing and another says different.

So since the switch from Everol 50 to Conti life has been hell. My Gp agrees with me that I’m not tolerating the Progesterone. It’s very maddening when your given one set of advice saying Everol 50 is fine after the three month trial then after three years to be told no you need Conti even though I’ve never bled. And my GP is certain the advice given at the start was the correct advice.

Hi I don't know much about hysterectomy.  I thought that the guidance was that after a hysterectomy you need progesterone if you have suffered with endometriosis, but usually all you need is oestrogen after a hysterectomy.

Perhaps start a new thread with the title " do I need progesterone after a hysterectomy?".  that might get you more answers.

Sorry I can't be of. more help.
