Discharge - ovestin?
« on: August 30, 2025, 06:44:36 PM »

Hello, everyone, I've spent some time having a look around the forum — what an excellent place and I'm so, so glad I came across it (a bit late, TBH!)...

Is it okay if I pop a quick(ish) Q here? I'll go for it now, but please let me know if I need to remove/move it from this section — still finding my feet.

Here goes: QUESTION -- I've been on full HRT for at least six years (and a pea-sized blob of testosterone 2 x week for the past five), and a few months ago started again on Ovestin (having used it externally for a while a few years ago when I had sore, dry labia), this time using it internally 2 x week.

The other day after a late start and shower, I was kneeling on the floor, bum on heels, when I felt this rush and something flow out of me. It was a decent amount of white and clear — clean looking, if that makes sense — gunk from my vagina. (SORRY!) It kind of freaked me out, TBH, and I have stopped the Ovestin since.

Has anyone else experienced this? I did have a bit of a discharge a week or so before it happened.

Sounds like some Ovestin/Estriol dropping out as you describe it as white clean looking.
Did this happen during the 2 week loading phase when you would have been using more ?

If it is just your labia that is dry and sore you may find that just using externally again more useful.  Used internally there are more oestrogen receptors.

Thank you for getting back. Yes, it seems like it could have been...I hope so! It was quite a lot, almost as much as had been inserted the night before.

No, not during the initial 2-week loading phase, but that was some time ago now. Up until recently, I just applied it externally when I felt I needed it, usually when the labia felt dry and/or sore and/or itchy.
