Low blood pressure everoil conti
« on: July 18, 2025, 07:05:01 AM »

Hello, I have been on evoril conti nearly 12 months. I’ve recently noticed my blood pressure has dropped and resulted in severe dizziness when running. I have stopped running and gp thinks it’s nothing to do with HRT. I’m not convinced. Has anyone else experienced this?

Has the GP done any tests, do U have a home BP monitor for example?

R U hydrated enough?  How is your diet overall?

It's hard to see a biologically plausible explanation for this.

Especially if you had been on it for several months before developing symptoms

As someone living with severe dysautonomia, I have been finding it extremely challenging to manage my blood pressure in the hot weather we have had over the past few weeks, so would suggest this as an alternative possible cause.

The only way to know for sure if it is your patch is to stop this and see - I would recommend trying oral treatment in its place rather than going untreated, because oral estradiol can help support your blood pressure which is one of the reasons I prefer it.

If this doesn't help please do persevere with your GP as there are some treatments for low blood pressure - I take fludrocortisone and wear compression hose.

Ibuprofen can also help and is available OTC, as can additional salt added to food.

Thank you for your comments. I’ll ask about gp about this.
My blood tests have come back clear.

I have definitely had lowered blood pressure since being on HRT particularly in the mornings for some reason but put it down to being more dehydrated in the morning. I get more dizzy too. I have GP tomorrow and this is one of my questions so will let you know!

I’ve been on Evorel Conti for three years and I definitely think it lowers blood pressure, my BP monitor has shown that I’ve gone from generally high end of normal BP before starting the patches to the low end of normal BP. I thought this was a good thing, but in the past year I’ve had two dizziness and fainting episodes, the first in very hot weather and the second landed me in hospital where they did all the heart checks and diagnosed me as being dehydrated from a virus. I’m concerned this may happen again, but I’m reluctant to give up the HRT as it’s having a great effect on my bone density (I was borderline for osteoporosis but now mid range osteopenia). Still weighing up what to do, I think a lot of GPs don’t have detailed knowledge on things like this, this forum is so helpful and I feel reassured that I’m not alone! I certainly think it’s important to drink lots and support socks help x
