Ovestin Burning After Using/Mixing?
« on: July 17, 2025, 07:23:19 PM »

Does anyone else get burning/soreness the next day after using Ovestin internally the night before?
I saw my doctor on Monday about something else unrelated and mentioned that I had read about mixing Ovestin with Yes vm and he said not to do that as that can affect how Ovestin absorbs and how it would work and using a cream instead of Vagfem, the cream will ‘run down’ and not stay where it needs to be high up like a pessary (Vagifem) would.

My symptoms will niggle the day after using 'ovestin/estriol' a feeling of heaviness underneath the belly button.

How often R U using the product?  Some may be sensitive to the fillers rather than the active ingredient so swop to vagifem.  YES products etc. can be used on the outer labia etc..

I usually use it externally on the vulva but yes it can sting so I apply Bepanthan cream afterwards and this stops the stinging.
I use vagifem for internal treatment.

Ovestin always burned me the day after using it internally and also irritated my bladder. Pessaries didn't work for me, so I switched to estriol 0.01% by Marlborough pharmaceuticals. It's the same amount of estriol per dose but a much greater quantity of cream. It doesn't irritate me at all as it has very different fillers.

Thankyou for your replies.

CLKD -I have been using Ovestin for 3/4 weeks.
Dierdre -I might try the Bepanthem.
Chopsuey -I did try the  estrio 0.01% but I don’t know if it is my prolapse or night time toilet trips but I couldn’t keep it all in , most of it would be in the loo by morning.
