Hi, newbie here
« on: July 15, 2025, 09:17:55 PM »

Just wanted to say hi.

iam 45 and even though I've probably had peri symptoms for the last few years, all hell broke loose a month ago.
I managed to get to see a GP same day thanks to 111, not that they were much help.
Had bleeding for the first time in 10 years, a night sweat where everything was soaked ( had one years ago too), pins and needles in an arm a time, every muscle hurts, headaches( eyes tested - half the problem), nausea. exhausted all the time, mood changes and don't get me started on the belly fat, just where the hell did that come from?!

Puberty was a nightmare so dreading this next stage.

Is anyone on any supplements?
I keep seeing these mushroom gummies on social media, iam not on HRT so just started chucking some Vit D, iron, Vit C and B12 down me at the moment hoping to improve my energy levels, before I start looking into this more seriously.

Feels like there's no support or advice out there, which is why I went out and found this forum :-)

:welcomemm:     There is support but finding a GP with HRT knowledge can be difficult and very long winded.

If you have had an 'unexpected' bleed your GP should have referred for the appropriate scan and discussed whether HRT is required to ease symptoms.  Especially at your age of 45.  Some still believe that unless we r having hot sweats and no periods, we can't possibly be in peri menopause  >:(

Some find that keeping a mood/food/syptom diary of use to chart progress.

Why choose supplements?  Your GP should have done blood tests too: thyroid function, iron levels, VitD levels - was that not suggested at that appt.?

Vit D is important for all of us .  Hormonal changes can be treated with a range of ways of delivery - I am sure that some1 will be along with advice.

Do read the threads regarding Vaginal Atrophy: 4warned is 4armed ;-). Browse round, make notes.
