In my experience oestrogel is energising and utrogestan is the one that causes drowsiness and lethargy in the first few months of taking it. I take 3 pumps of gel and 100mg of utrogestan continuously and I’m 49 and in peri. I could never take 200mg of utrogestan, I would be unable to function. Even 100mg was a challenge at the start but I adapted and now just experience it as calming but it can take many months to get used to it. I wouldn’t say daytime sleepiness but more like lethargy and harder to get motivated to do things. My gp recommended this regime and it works for me. I hope this helps.

It might be best to start a new post with more details about your own symptoms. This is an old post and OP has left the forum so you may not get many replies here.

Hi Sheila, thanks for letting me know, was just trying to help, I’m ok with HRT right now so no need for a new thread
