Nausea every morning for 6 months
« on: July 05, 2025, 11:25:18 AM »

Hi
I'm on hrt but I know my levels are low. Every single morning I wake up with debilitating nausea that lasts most of the morning. I do suffer with anxiety too. This has been Every day for 6 months. I just dont know if it's my mind causing it or the low estrogen. Because of all these things I'm becoming agoraphobic.

Hello Michelle

I had a spell of nausea that felt like morning sickness. As I recall it lasted about
six months so you may be coming to the end of  this horrible symptom.

I do remember that I was a few years post meno at the time and I wasn't on HRT so definitely low oestrogen in my case.

Fortunately this symptom has never returned and I hope this soon resolves for you.

Wishing you well and take care.

That’s very low for oestrogen. Perhaps you need to increase it.

Which hrt are you using and how much?

The nausea I had was all day, every day. It was very debilitating . x

Michelle46, just wanted to say that I too have been suffering with terrible nausea for about 4 months now and mine improves after the morning. I've had blood tests last week which were totally clear but they didn't check any hormones apart from thyroid....I think it could be cortisol maybe but GP didn't even think of checking it. I'm not on HRT anymore so I definitely think mines hormonal but it seems like they want to rule everything else out before they even consider hormones.
Have you seen a GP and discussed your symptoms yet?

Hi There, I am 66 years old and have never been on HRT.  Usually, I cope with my ongoing symptoms but they seem to have got worse over the past few years.  I keep a note of my symptoms and I get the following at set times of each month....feelings of bloating, burping, shivery, nauseaus, weepy, creepy crawly feeling/tingling in my legs and anxiety. I am convinced that it´s all due to hormonal shifts/low oestregen at certain time of the month, almost like a phantom period. My GP who is lovely and only 44 seems to think that because I started post menopause age 52 that I should be well past any post menopausal symptoms....wrong!  I also think that GP´s are woefully untrained on all things menopause and I am going to ask her to be referred to an endocrinologist who can check me out.  Do any of you, feel  as if you are going mad?  I certainly do as it´s like banging my head against a brick wall.

Hello again ladies.

As I said I had nausea for about six months in the early days of my menopause. Fortunately that particular symptom has not recurred.
I went on to have daily headaches which also lasted six months before going away. The next one was the internal shaking sensation and after six months of that when it showed no sign of relenting, I threw in the towel and asked for HRT. By this time I was three years post meno and my GP thought everything should have been done and dusted by then!

My HRT experience hasn't been great  so here I am at almost four months off HRT for the second time. I will be 69 in September.

I often wonder if every symptom was likely to last six months before settling and perhaps if I had pushed on through I would be stable by now. It is partly to test this theory that I have come off HRT again.

I certainly feel that my sanity has been tested by this whole menopause experience and am making every lifestyle change that I can think of to try and improve things.

Wishing you all well ladies.
