Hi, I was on Evorel Conti for ten years with no problems at all but I asked my GP to change my regime to Evorel 50 plus 100g Utrogestan because I believed it would be safer in September 2023. Then six months later I had bleeding, on scan the womb lining was 5.7 mm and I had a polyp. I had a GA and polyp removed and biopsy clear. Now a year later, more bleeding , womb lining more then 5mm , blood flow seen on Doppler and they are querying whether more polyps. So now waiting for another biopsy.
I asked the Gynaecologist if he advised coming off HRT and he said no. I asked if maybe the change to Utrogestan had caused the problem. He was contradictory in his response, initially saying if it was that I’d have been bleeding all year but finished off by saying to me , you think Utrogestan is safer but it’s not safer if you have to have a GA every year.
Last year I had a hysterostomy under local but it was very painful and so a different doctor stopped before doing the polyp removal and booked me in for GA. This time, the gynaecologist tried to get a cervical biopsy, saying if that was clear, I could wait longer for the day surgery but again he had to stop as the pain was too much. He then offered me a Mirena coil to be out in during my day surgery which I declined as the pain on these two procedures makes me think it would be wrong for me as you have to change it every five years and that wouldn’t be under GA. I’ve never had children and last year they said I had cervical stenosis.
So I’m wondering whether to ask my GP to put me back in Evorel Conti. Wondering if for me, the progesterone levels are too unstable taken in tablet form as opposed to on the patch.
Any thoughts welcomed.
