Hi I’m now 65 and began taking combined HRT a year ago.  As I bled daily I was persuaded by the gynaecologist to have a mirena coil inserted but this is when the nightly palpitations and sleeplessness began.  So I had it removed after 3 months but continued to suffer from palpitations during the night.  So for the past months I’ve been taking HRT in the form of patches and utrogestan but continue to suffer from palpitations, anxiety and sleeplessness which is impacting my life negatively.  Does anyone use cbd oil or anything else such as magnesium bisglycinate, melatonin etc to ease these distressing symptoms and is it safe to take cbd oil?

I don't use any of these products, but if you ring a pharmacist they will be able to let you know if okay to take together.

I have no experience with CBD oil - the safety of this obviously depends on both your individual chemistry and the quality of the product i.e. if it is sourced from a reputable supplier.

However anything you take is just as safe whether the estradiol and progesterone in your body came from your ovaries or from a patch and capsule.

Your body doesn't know where these molecules came from as they are structurally identical to what you would have produced.

So if you wouldn't have been concerned about taking it when you were premenopausal there's no reason to be concerned about taking it now.

There is Onas progesterone cream over the counter, which is already blended with cbd. So it should be safe combination.

I’ve been in a similar spot, HRT helped with some things, but the anxiety, palpitations, and broken sleep stuck around. I was hesitant about CBD at first too, especially while on HRT, but after doing a bit of research and talking to a pharmacist, I gave it a go.

Maybe you need more HRT? It doesn't sound like you're getting enough to combat the menopause symptoms including sleep.

Personally I couldn't sleep if I took utrogestan, even taken vaginally, it had me so wired I was almost shaking.

I take tibolone now, I sleep through the night and I take plenty of CBD along with THC as it happens.

Hi,

I’m on HRT and keep using CBD oil almost every night before going to bed (2-3 drops under the tongue).

Obviously will depend on your medical history and what other meds you’re on.

I get my CBD oil usually online, e.g. Holland & Barrett or similar reputable sources.
