Good question.
Personally I have to consider quality of life. VA treatments are usually a very small active ingredient ......... often essential for well being. So R unlikely to impact on triggering a recurrence. It never crossed my mind to worry - I had breast treatment 30 years ago and began VA about 8 years ago.
MayB send a copy of this to Emma via her PM?
Thank you for your thoughts. I was treated for Estrogen positive breast cancer nearly 20 years ago including 10 years of Tamoxifen. Although I am suffering from severe vaginal atrophy now I am still anxious about it all. I was prescribed vaginal estrogen last year and it was a game changer...it was amazing and really helped. It took me months to pluck up courage to use it. I am glad I did but the anxiety is there. Sadly I had to stop vaginal estrogen because I was getting severe migraines with aura...hadn't had one for years so it was a big shock. My gynae is wonderful and has now prescribed Intrarosa but I am back to square one in terms of plucking up courage to use it.
The real problem is having access to the Internet and getting too much un...medical information and reading the leaflets in the medication which frighten the he'll out of you.
I just thought it would be so useful to have the facts outlined in an article referencing medical studies ...on vaginal treatments post breast cancer, their efficacy and risks/ benefits.
In reality I am 70, suffering from severe vaginal atrophy causing UTIs and constant burning which is affecting my daily life. I should think 'what the hell' just use the treatments to improve the quality of my life and stop worrying about BC recurrence.
Life is too short...quality of life is important.
Perhaps the article could include quality of life importance too.
Thank you for your post and your positive way of looking at it all.
You have helped me today.
Let's hope there is room in the magazine for the suggested article.
Thanks again.😊❤️😊
