Hi everyone a newbie here and thanks for the acceptance. Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

I have read a thread or two on this forum, this week and they’ve been very helpful. However, I need help with a couple of things that maybe you can answer.

I am 64 and will be 65 in July. I was on Kliofem HRT tablets for a couple of years and then changed last year to Everol Conti patches. They’ve never cut the mustard for me, so the doctor topped me up twice a week with Vagirux. The first 14 at the start (non stop) in line with the patches, Well my goodness!  I felt like a different woman!! 🥳 Then when I had to drop to twice a week, it all went wrong again so Doc said go to 3 a week with a view to trying to get down to 2!
After a few months, I’m still on 3!! So I went back to the doc and she’s now prescribed Everol 50 patches (twice a week as usual) with Utrogestan 100mg tablets (1 everyday as Uterus in situ!). I have read a thread on here which helped with a bit of anxiety with this change, that I had (a lady in a similar scenario). I know the risks of being 65 soon and on HRT but I appreciate this is about quality of life now.

So now to my queries

I change my Everol Conti patches every Monday and Thursday.  Today, is Monday and due to change it. So do I just stop the Conti and start the Everol 50 & pop the tablet tonight (I don’t have any bleeds not had a period for donkey’s years).

Secondly, I usually change my patch in the morning but it says the tablet is best swallowed at night incase you get drowsy and do your oestrogen at the same time (hence changing from morning to evening). Do any of you on this,  get drowsiness or other side effects?

Lastly, I sometimes get Acid Reflux so take Gaviscon Double Action. I cannot find an answer if you can take this if on Utrogestan. Do any of you take Gaviscon?

I’m so sorry this is soooooo long but I have to get this right.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Hi yes you’re right about how to do the change….put the patch on and start the Utrogestan.

It’s advised to take the Utrogestan in the evening or at night on an empty stomach. Change your patch at whatever time it suits you. You don’t have to change it in the evening.

Hi
Oh thanks. I wasn’t sure as it said to take oestrogen at the same time but I think “they” meant tablets. That’s much clearer
