Hello you lovely lot, after a bit of advice please if possible…
I trialled HRT recently (43 and suspected perimenopausal - heart palpitations, jittery anxiety and night sweats when it was period time)
Was prescribed Estradot 50 and Utrogestan to take vaginally. I have a history of gastritis and was told by the menopause consultant that the patches and vaginal tablets wouldn’t affect my stomach. Sadly they did, caused a massive and intolerable gastritis flare-up, and aside from that the Utrogestan caused severe depression which I’ve never suffered with before.
I’ve had two, regular as always, periods since stopping the HRT. Both heavier and more painful than usual. I can cope with that. However, the two times I’ve ovulated since stopped the HRT have brought me an irritated bladder and thrush! Again, these are things I’ve never suffered with before in my life! Tell a lie, I had thrush once years ago after some antibiotics.
I’ve also got severe low mood still, like the Utrogestan gave me. This fact and the fact that the jittery anxiety and night sweats haven’t returned make me feel like my progesterone has stayed high?!
How long will it take for this to settle or is this permanent? I cannot cope. The thrush and irritated bladder at ovulation time for a few days I can cope with, with the help of Caneston, but this fatigue and low mood are crippling me.
