Feeling flat with low libido
« on: April 25, 2025, 03:03:25 PM »

Hi again, I have not responded well to HRT after starting to take it aged 64. I bled constantly for 6 months after starting taking evorel 50 and 100 g utrogestan - the gynaecologist advised having a mirena coil inserted one year ago but it caused lots of pain during the night, along with palpitations.  I had it removed in June last year but continued to have palpitations so a menopause specialist advised taking evorel 50 and 200 mg utrogestan.  But continued to have palpitations during the night and then 4 months later, I began to bleed again.  I’m beginning to feel more like my old energetic self after stopping the HRT 6 months ago and sleeping better because hardly any palpitations.  But fed up of feeling flat all the time with very low libido.  I’m sure taking oestrogen would probably help but I think I’m allergic to progesterone- I think it was that that gave me palpitations.  Is anyone else in this predicament and found anything that helps?

What about tibolone?

That has androgenic properties as well so is likely to be much more effective for libido.

It is a great option for progesterone intolerant women and often overlooked.
