Anxiety back
« on: April 15, 2025, 05:30:32 AM »

So after several tries at hrt am 7 weeks in on femseven conti from Evorel conti which made me proper depressed. Been fine and now boom back to waking all sorts of times in night, surges and this morning burst into tears! Both ovaries are shrunk have been getting bleed period type and had recent scans all ok,am 52 with other health issues.
Beginning to feel it’s not doing it for me at all this hrt although am better than 2 years ago. Unsure if I need more oestrogen? Had Mirena before and fell out after 4months, didn’t tolerate utro all that well so I’m at a crossroads now no wondered what anyone else thought please?

Morning.  Anxiety floors me.  I have emergency meds which enable me either to continue or to sleep.

Early morning surges may be caused by cortisol, the waking hormone.  My GP prescribed Betablockas 2 ease those symptoms - could you give your body a rest from HRT and try something more dedicated to the anxiety. I believe that there is an anti-depressant too that works to help anxiety.

What were your periods up to and which symptom would you like to ease?

I have setraline in the cupboard as a if I need to, whole thing with starting hrt was to ease anxiety and palpitations but really does make you wonder if it’s the cause rather than an effect to make better.
Periods unsure as not gone whole 12m on the trot so think it’s still all over the shop despite both ovaries small now I thought that was it!

Peri-menopause are those years leading up to the last bleed = menopause.  Even then Nature may throw in a curved ball  ::)

Is  Setraline to be taken every day?  Don't suffer with anxiety !

Yep.  I was like that when taking The Pill, it would sit in my hand for hours B4 I swallowed it. Every night  :-\

Sometimes side effects aren't worth the effort of trying to ease anxiety.  However ?
