I’m wondering if anyone has used Crinone Progesterone Gel topically instead of vaginally?

It’s an 8% progesterone gel available on the NHS in the UK for Vaginal use and contains other ingredients like palm oil and liquid paraffin which doesn’t seem to dissimilar to the ingredients in the likes of Ona’s Progesterone cream. I don’t have a womb so don’t need for womb protection, just wanted to add some progesterone into my HrT routine to counterbalance some estrogen.

As long as you aren't relying on it for endometrial protection there's no harm in trying this.

However crinone is designed to be absorbed via the vaginal mucosa, which is very different to the skin on your body, and studies show negligible absorption of progesterone molecules through skin.

You could try the skin first, but if that doesn't help I would suggest using it vaginally as this has been proven to result in effective absorption.

I use it for the progesterone part of my HRT as don't get on with Utrogestan). I can't get it on NHS so have to pay for private prescriptions. About £50 for box of 15 that lasts me a month, every other day.
