Hi,

I am on HRT and also Slynd which is a mini pill with extra progesterone. Just before recently starting Slynd, I came off of the pill for two months and had a period, so I no they haven't stopped as yet. Now I'm back on the pill though I obviously don't get them.
I have a few symptoms since the perimenopause that I would like to work out if they are connected to my cycle - is it when I am in the follicular or luteal phase... Is there any way you can work this out if not having periods?!

Drospirenone (slynd) switches off your own cycle, your ovaries are nice and quiet and no ovulation is taking place. You cannot therefore have a follicular or luteal phase.

If you take it every day you should remain bleed free.

If you interrupt it you may get withdrawal bleeding - this is an artificial "period" which is not medically necessary.

Thanks for your reply - but in terms of mood swings, insomnia, anxiety and anything else related to a cycle- this still happens and is what I want to track - does that make sense?

Those are all symptoms of low estrogen. It's likely that you need an increase in your HRT.

As bomb says, you don't have a cycle. You are taking a pill which puts your ovaries to sleep and suppresses their function. If it didn't do that, it wouldn't be effective as a birth control pill.
