What happened to holding meetings on ZOOM? 


A new four-lane highway cutting through tens of thousands of acres of protected Amazon rainforest is being built for the COP30 climate summit in the Brazilian city of Belém.

It aims to ease traffic to the city, which will host more than 50,000 people - including world leaders - at the conference in November.

The state government touts the highway's "sustainable" credentials, but some locals and conservationists are outraged at the environmental impact.


Plus the impact of overall travel and hosting delegates !!!!!

Just shows what a farce it is. They normally all arrive in private jets doing their bit to make climate change worse but destroying the amazon as well really takes the biscuit.

Is there anything that 'we' R able to do to prevent this?  I'm too old to march  and won't fly.

Just be grateful we won't be around to see the worst of it, we're well on the way to destroying everything.

I sometimes wonder whether we should drop everything and get not a plane and go seek those places ...... rather than people pleasing all the while.
