Is facial flushing hot flushes?
« on: February 26, 2025, 01:56:10 AM »

This month I've had facial flushing, every night around 11pm.

Sometimes changing to a new patch calms it down (even though it shouldn't yet need changing), or it calms after about an hour or so.

I've never had hot flushes, don't feel hot, except for facial skin, and only had facial flushing some years ago and it wasn't clear the reason (though it seemed to stop with hrt)

Is this hot flushing?  sorry if it's a daft question but I've not dealt with feeing hot before and still don't, I've got my thermals on as I type, it's only my face.

I'm on evorel sequi, so only on estradiol 50 and I'm now 53.  Thanks

Hi Kara, yes, sounds like a flush, every morning, usually without fail, about half an hour after having my first cuppa of the day,my face heats up,JUST my face but in the evening it can start on my chest,or sometimes it's the abdomen.

thanks Jaypo, I just remember women (when I was young) being really hot, and taking clothes off and fanning themselves.  I don't have any of that just the hot and red face and only this month.

I suppose it is a flush, and maybe I should be grateful I don't feel all that heat others do.

I think they can vary between individuals. I didn't recognise mine as flushes as they never started spontaneously, only after an external heat source such as a hot drink. They also went when I started hrt. Perhaps best to think of them as thermo regulatory malfunction.

I used to get a warm face every single night at 10pm on the dot. Only my face, never anywhere else.

Hey. I've only recently started to feel hot flushes.

I've also recently been through chemical menopause - so I know exactly what they feel like, for me.

Mine only come in the late evening, during the night and after my morning cuppa. The rest of the day I'm freezing and in thermals.

Mine are not really my face. More my upper body. But I suspect we're all different with that.

I think I'm writing just to say it totally normal to be in thermals all the time, but still get hot flushes.  ;D

Yes I have this around 9pm most nights! Often just my face that feels really hot but weirdly doesn’t look it. Also chest but not always, sometimes just face,
Also morning first thing - and I’ve just realised it’s often after my morning’s cuppa which now makes sense reading the other comments.
