I Feel Another Experiment Coming On.
« on: February 16, 2025, 04:54:12 PM »

Hello ladies.

I am thinking of trying another experiment and I thought I would post here first.

I have had a lot of family visiting this weekend including my gorgeous two and a half year old grandson. It's been lovely but I am so ridiculously tired I can barely keep my eyes open, in fact I have worried that I may burst into tears from exhaustion!

I may try to reduce Utrogestan to see if that helps to reduce the fatigue but of course that means coming off Sandrena gel. If the night sweats etc return then I will be tired from that!

My Dr has prescribed Pregabalin for my nerves but I wonder if that is also adding to the fatigue?

When I have the house to myself I will decide what to do and I will report back to the forum.

Btw why is everything so annoyingly difficult to figure out?

Take care ladies and wishing you all well.

Why would you have to stop the estrogen gel?

If micronised progesterone doesn't suit you there are plenty of non-drowsy alternatives.

As a first step have you tried taking it vaginally? This bypasses the gut and hence avoids conversation to supra physiological quantities of allopregnanolone.

Fatigue is one of the commonest side effects of pregabalin during the first few weeks of treatment. I'm not sure how long you've been on it for?

Hello ladies.

Taz2 - I started on Pregabalin about mid October on a very low dose, 25 mg per day. I was told that this low start was to see how I tolerated it. My dose has been gradually increased and I have now been taking 50 mg twice daily since the middle of January.

I have had times of huge tiredness before and if I haven't been able to rest or nap I have managed to push through. I feel that in general I sleep well but I often wake up tired.

I will check in with my GP to see what they think about the Pregabalin dose.

bombsh3ll -   I have used Utrogestan orally a while a go and then vaginally when this was advised by Newson Health.  When I moved back to my GP surgery for my HRT the vaginal route was frowned on and I was advised to use it orally. I thought I would give it another try. If this is making me more tired then I will attempt vaginally again and see if that feels better.

Thanks for the replies ladies,  I have to resolve this tiredness somehow so I will keep experimenting.

Take care ladies and wishing you well.

Hi I suffered with exhaustion when my oestrogen was low. The right dose of Oestrogel sorted it.

It’s all a bit of a minefield !

Hello Dotty

I totally agree! You are fortunate that you found the right HRT combination.
I may be doing the wrong thing by experimenting again but things are not good atm so it's worth a try.

Thank you for your reply and I wish you well.
