So tell your GP how you are really feeling, lay it on thick if necessary!  R U able to make a double appt., perhaps at the end of the day to discuss these symptoms?

Why didn't the GP follow up, letting U know that they had received the letter? As for seeing a gynae., hormonal blood tests are reliably un-reliable.  MayB it's time to get a referral to a dedicated menopause clinic?

Seems common not to contact the patient: 2 years ago, DH went for an x-ray on a painful knee, as there was 'nil of note' the message went back 'no further treatment required'.  Well mayB tell the patient?   :beat:  ask if symptoms have eased?

Let us know how you get on.  Don't give up!

Thanks for your support CLKD.
The IBD clinic oversees the ulcerative colitis and I’ve been stable on medication for nearly 3 years.
The letter from the gynaecologist was the follow-up from a dedicated meno clinic appt.
Since receiving the text message from the GP, I’ve replied on AskMyGP (the system I contacted the GP on this morning) asking about my worsening symptoms and abnormal FSH/LH.
Why does it have to be such a battle?

Many of us ask the same question.  Because medics don't seem to realise how difficult peri/menopause symptoms can be, how they impact.

Further update…
Spoke to my GP on Tuesday, told her exactly how I was feeling and that I couldn’t go on like this. She said she was going to refer me back to the meno clinic and request that a certain consultant review me. I asked what I should do in the meantime and she’s prescribed short-acting Propanolol, as and when, to help with the anxiety.
The GP’s letter triggered something at the meno clinic as I received a call yesterday from the meno doc I saw 2 weeks ago. She said the multi-disciplinary team had reviewed my case and they were referring me to endocrinology - get to the bottom of why my HRT is no longer therapeutic.
Both GP and meno clinic think my very low FSH is to be expected because of the oestrogen I’m taking.
Took three 10mg tablets of Propanolol yesterday and it definitely helped with the anxiety. Taken one so far today and will take another at bedtime.
There is light at the end of the tunnel and I no longer feel dismissed.
I’m very grateful for the referral to endocrinology but I do wonder why the meno clinic is doing this - I thought the easiest option would be to try a higher (off licence) dose of oestrogen.

MayB make a list then contact the Menopause Clinic?  It's good that the Propranolol is working 4 U.  It certainly worked for me: 40mg at night eased the early morning Cortisol surges.
