Thank you all so much. My head’s still all over the place. I’m leaning towards keeping them but asking my consultant to remove if he feels anything looks obviously amiss.  It worried what my somewhat scary gynaecologist will say as she’s been quite dismissive about my rationale behind my possible intention to keep them. I need her on side to agree to new HRT regime and possible testosterone to sway my dinosaur of a male GP. Blood tests showed non existent testosterone and low oestrogen absorbance but HRT saved me when I started it several years ago. I don’t want to go back to those dark days again. Ever.

I’m leaning towards keeping them but asking my consultant to remove if he feels anything looks obviously amiss.  I’m a little worried what my somewhat scary (but lovely) gynaecologist will say as she’s been quite dismissive about my rationale behind my possible intention to keep them. I need her on side to agree to adjusting my HRT regime if necessary and possible testosterone to sway my dinosaur of a male GP. This is YOUR body.  If U suggest that she should remove them should she see anything untoward gives her carte blanche - because there will be a clause somewhere on the Consent Form which she can refer back to.

MayB it's time to get an appt with a dedicated menopause clinic as well as asking at Overcome website.

You do not need to give up a body organ to keep a doctor sweet.

Believe me, we are past this as a society.

They are your ovaries. Your doctor doesn't have to live without them.

Do let the Consultant's secretary know your decision B4 U go in, to stop feeling bullied.
