constant Jittery/Fight or flight feeling
« on: January 02, 2025, 05:40:31 PM »

Hi ladies - Happy New Year to everyone!

I posted a few months ago when I'd stopped HRT cold turkey. I'm 49 (50 this year) I was on evorel 100 and 200mg utro for 2 weeks.  I was also on 80mg Slow release propranolol (beta blocker).  I came off all of the above because I was experiencing unbearable and constant ectopic heart beats.  I was having bigeminy frequently and it was ruining my life (should mention that I didn't have this before going on the hrt or beta blockers).  I was very very depressed and wasn't hopeful for the future.  My GP told me to stop everything when she saw how low I was.

Anyway, coming off of the HRT and beta blockers helped so much with the depression, insomnia and ectopics.  I now only have a few ectopics a day and they are spaced apart so don't worry me at all.  I've been feeling much better in myself up to now.  I'm now 2 months off of them for the past few days I've felt very anxious nervous/jittery.  Like my body is in fight or flight.  I can't relax and my heart rate is constantly fast (I don't know what because I won't let myself go down the route of becoming obsessed about my heart rate again).  I can feel it's fast though.  The past few nights I've also been waking up during the night in a panic and my heart is beating really strong and I'm very hot.  This is how I felt before I went on the HRT and beta blockers but unfortunately I started them around the same time and stopped them around the same time so it's hard to know which helped with that (also this was the reason I went on the beta blockers because of the anxiety and fast heart rate).

The first month off of HRT i had a period but this month I'm now 13 days late.  The last blood test I had was a few weeks ago and my estrogen was 100 and progesterone was 0.23 (day 21).  I took myself to Randox today and had another blood test to see what my hormones are doing now but I assume that they are low considering my last results and the fact that I've missed a period.

Anyway, sorry for the long message.  I know that others have experienced these symptoms, the racing heart and waking up in a panic.  Just wondered what had helped?  I'm thinking that perhaps I need to consider a low dose of HRT again (I will try a different method this time, maybe lenzetto).  I will never take beta blockers again.    Should also mention I've had tons of heart tests and all fine.

Thank you so much for reading.  Any advice appreciated.
