Bruising from oestrogel??
« on: November 28, 2024, 10:36:00 PM »

Hi, I've been using oestrogel for a week and after a couple of days I realised my inner thighs where I'm rubbing in the gel felt sore. When I looked both thighs are bruised slightly. It can only be from the gel and I'm not rubbing it in very hard, no different to say a body lotion. Has anyone else found this?

Contrary to what you might read on the internet, it is not supposed to be rubbed in. It should be spread thinly and allowed to dry, so that the oestradiol is drawn down into the skin with the alcohol. My previous specialst was involved in the original Oestrogel trials and was very specific about this!

Hi sadielouise78

I'm just wondering if you're maybe allergic to something in the gel or if the skin on your inner thighs is a bit reactive to the gel. Could you try your outer arms, that's where I used it when I was on hrt.

Hello sadielouise and welcome to the forum.

I also wonder if you are seeing a skin reaction to the gel?

I haven't seen any information on bruising but perhaps you are rubbing extremely hard every day?

I think it is a good idea to try using a different area of your skin to see if you get the same reaction.

I hope you find a solution and take care.

K.
