Armpits spots
« on: October 23, 2024, 12:50:01 PM »

Hi
Just after some reassurance really but I will add that I have seen a GP and am awaiting an appointment with the breast clinic.
So a few weeks ago now I noticed a couple of red lumps under my right arm, no head on them, not itchy, one quite big, one smaller. I used a hot compress for a few days and they went away. The following week I had a red mark come up on my right breast. Looked like a bite but not itchy just very red. Saw nurse practitioner who said she thought it was a cyst. Gave me hydrocortisone cream which slowly cleared it (it’s practically unnoticeable now). Then I had smaller red spots come up under both arms. Not itchy and not as big as before. I used the hydrocortisone on them and they went away but I saw a nurse practitioner again who reassured me not to worry (I have health anxiety and take citalopram for it).
Then recently started getting pains in both breasts and under both arms. Sometimes mild pain, sometimes a burning feeling. Also weird sensations in my groin (pinching?). I saw a GP who has said he thinks the pain will go if I give it a couple of weeks but also offered to refer me to the breast clinic.
Can anyone relate? It’s just such a weird feeling sometimes. My armpit (especially on right) feels sore but there’s nothing to see or feel. 2 nurse practitioners and the GP examined me.
I’ve had Mirena coil since 2009 and no periods since then. Not on HRT.
Thanks for reading

Hi the Mirena probably needs changing, they are good for about 5 years.  A drop in hormone would probably account for your sensations.  Best go to the breast clinic and take a list of worries with you.  It ticks off that issue.

R they spots as in acne-type or hard lumps?  Hot?  Sticky?  Hydrocortisone may well clear these, something to mention to the breast clinic.

Thanks for replying. I’ve had the Mirena changed in those years. It’s not the same one  ;D
Yes little red spots like acne. Not hot or sticky or itchy just painful. The hydrocortisone has cleared them but I’m still sore under my arms :(

No have used the same deodorant for years. I’ve very recently tried using a Mitcham roll on instead to see if it made any difference but no.

That area can become sensitive.  I have used talc to ease symptoms.

DH had similar symptoms which within 3/4 days became shingles  :o  ::)

I’m 2 weeks now so hopefully not shingles, it did cross my mind though.

Maybe I’ll try some talc. Is there a good one to try?

What ever you have to hand, DOVE is soothing.

A GP should recognise shingles , DHs began on his back with irritation under his arm pits, which I treated with 'antisan', then the blisters developed.   ::)
