No success for me, racing heart rate kicked back in last evening whilst I was sitting on the sofa.  Remained higher overnight.

There was a typo in my post yesterday, I moved to 1 x 100 (I typed 1 x 200 in error).

I'm going to try to keep going and see what  happens.  I've got a thyroid scan in a couple of weeks

Sorry to hear about the racing heart Seasidegirl, it can be a worry not to mention very uncomfortable and bothersome. I had the same last night but I suspect it was down to too high a dose of thyroid meds over the day - I’m also making a switch from T3 only treatment back to NDT so there will be errors in calculating doses etc.

How are you taking your progesterone? Vaginal can alleviate some symptoms caused by oral delivery. The principle of sticking with to give it time is the best approach but I just wondered whether you’re using the best delivery method for you.

Thanks Furyan, I'm still taking it orally although the next option will be vaginally.  I'm increasingly of the view that this is overactive thyroid related but its easy to jump to conclusions.

Interesting that you are leaning towards it being your thyroid issue,  I'm sure I've read that women often have to review or reduce their needs for an under active thyroid once they are on HRT.

I think I'm less worried about the heartrate than debilitated by it,  it's higher than normal but not superhigh and my fitbit isn't recording rhythm issues.   I feel really tired and fatigued by it.

Yes, increased heart rate makes me feel very fatigued (and anxious) when it goes on for too long. I just never appreciated til now the profound effect that our sex hormones play in all this. I thought it was just my b12d and thyroid…

I found out that reintroducing NDT into the mix may have had something to do with my symptoms too. I was getting very confused and in order to simplify things a bit I returned to taking T3 only, which is helping to stay the heart rate abit.  But staying on a 75 patch and increasing the progesterone to 300mg seems to be the main thing that’s settling me. I suspect that I could even increase the progesterone slightly more for its calming effect but ai won’t jump the gun.
I haven’t had to increase my thyroid meds despite increasing my oestrogen dose and I wonder why - each time I try to increase it slightly I get signs of hyper so I’m guessing the oestrogen doesn’t bind the thyroid hormone significantly.

It is only oral estrogen which raises SHBG and binds the thyroid meds. Transdermal shouldn't do that...

Hi Furyan, thanks for asking, I did 2 nights on 1 x 100 utro orally but the symptoms were straight back (unlike previous months where it took a number of days).   I switched to 1 x 100 vaginally and it's not bad,  bit mixed really,  1st night still quite symptomatic but seems to be improving.

I don't have the significant symptoms I was having so that's a definite improvement but I still don't feel great.   I can't imagine feeling like this all of the time on a continuous regime but maybe once I can tolerate a regime I'll get used to it?  Dunno.

I've got an ENT appointment next week for them to look at my thyroid goitre so I'll see what they say.   I've then got a GP appointment the following week.   I'd really like an endocrine referral but I think as my TSH is right on the bottom of the reference range I've got little chance of that happening and I'll probably end up paying for a private referral to try to get someone to look at the whole issue.

How are you getting on?
