Hey
I'm on a very low dose of escitalopram - 5mg. I have been on it for years. Does nadda.

. I need to get up to 10mg for affect.
This is something I want to do as I know from previous use it really does work for my anxiety and moods - all hormonally related. First time on escitalopram was post birth!
I'm now in peri and I feel it could buffer some of my symptoms. I've tried so many hormonal 'solutions' to no avail. Whereas I know the antidepressants have helped me before.
I'll be honest though, the reason I've not increased yet is the to side affects. Not long term ones - never noticed any of them. But the short term getting worse before better is pretty bad for me. I need to be in the right place at the right time to endure that start up. If takes a good few weeks for me to come out of that.
I do have liquid drops so I can titrate up slowly. Ive always chopped my doses up when trying to increase or decrease. As I'm very sensitive.
I think you have your answer on this thread. Not sure why someone would say antidepressants don't help anyone. Even the few woman that have commented here have been helped.
I think it's really worth a try. Xx
