Increased heart rate
« on: September 17, 2024, 12:25:56 AM »

I recently had an increase in HRT following a review and have noticed via my fitbit that my resting heartrate has increased. Im now on 3 sprays lenzetto and 100mg utrogestan as a pessary. I've had a hysteroscopy/biopsy under GA this morning and they noted my BP and pulse were raised too and have advised a GP check in which I will do.

These aren't palpitations or ectopics (had them pre HRT) which I know are meno related and ironically when on cardio at the gym it doesn't shoot up really high but sits in the healthy range. No major stresses in life, the only thing I can think of is it may be the increase? Is that a known side effect??
Thanks!

Absolutely an increase in sex hormones can impact your heart rate.

This is not a cause for concern unless either it is taking you out of the healthy range or if it is associated with other symptoms.

I don't know if you had a Fitbit when you had a natural cycle but if you did you would probably have seen HR change across the menstrual cycle.

Also the fact that you had a hysteroscopy and GA would probably have sent most people's HR and BP up.

Do keep an eye on it and if your BP remains raised then definitely see your GP but I would expect the resting heart rate to settle once you are accustomed to the new doses.
