Bleeding getting worse
«

Hi all
I have regular bleeding for at about 4 years and had various investigations. Ultrasound and hysteroscopy. All been clear lining is 2.5mm. I have adenomyosis. I am on femiston conti 1/5 and use vagifem and recently ovestin cream. I am sensitive to progesterone so only the one in femoston suits me and isn’t in anything else. I have been on it 20 years other than short breaks to try other options . I am 61. Am thinking to come off HRT slowly so went to half dose last night. Thinking 3 months at this level although bad headache today which could be anything. Any other ideas. I cannot stand bleeding all the time anymore

Sorry you're having these problems.
Would an IUS be an option? Even one of the lower strength ones like kyleena or jaydess which could potentially be used in addition to the femoston?
Alternatively have you considered Tibolone instead?
It would be a real shame to lose the benefits of HRT long term over this.
Have you seen a specialist or are you just under your GP? This is the kind of issue that warrants a referral to a specialist if it can't be managed in primary care and the only option being offered is to come off the hormone therapy.

I don't think it makes any difference in the long run if you wean off it or go cold turkey. If symptoms are going to return they'll do it either way. Good luck, I hope they don't.
I agree specialist advice might be useful. Is a hysterectomy an option?

Only with GP. Never any referral no interest in solving it. I have terrible VA and a prolapse . Really at the end of my tether with it all.

Do push for a referral to a specialist gynaecologist/menopause clinic.
You shouldn't just have to live with that.
Having a prolapse may also help your case for a hysterectomy.
