Anxiety and panic on evorel 50?
« on: August 16, 2024, 06:59:19 PM »

Hi everyone, first time I’ve posted so not sure what to expect! I started evorel patches last week, I’m 54 and ?menopausal?
On Tuesday I felt panicky walking to work and couldn’t put my finger on why. Since then my anxiety has increased and sleep has been tricky. I’m not anxious about anything in particular just a feeling of dread and tearful. Could this be a side effect of the evorel? I’m not normally like this

Morning.  Yep HRT can cause other symptoms B4 the body accepts the uptake.

Which symptom would you like to ease?

R U able to remember what your periods were doing and when your last bleed might have been?  peri-menopause are the years when we realise that there are changes, i.e. periods wax and wane.  Once we have been 12 months without a bleed we may be in menopause proper, however, Nature can throw in a bleed so we have to count again from 1  ::)

Some find that keeping a mood/food/symptom diary of use to chart progress.  Hopefully some1 will be along with advice about your regime.

:welcomemm:  browse round, make notes, ask away.

You can get anxiety from both too much and too little oestrogen. As it's started since taking hrt itvwould seem to fromm too much or from too big an increase. What strength patch are you on? You could start on half a patch and increase it gradually if you find you need to.

Menopause made me very anxious, which is why I wanted to try HRT. I opted to use half a patch the first few times, and I think I felt a little more anxious but this soon settled; after patch 3, which was a whole one.

I did just post about patch placement. You might not be getting enough in, depending where you put it. I’d give yourself time to adjust until you’re getting the optimal level. It helps if you can exercise when you feel like this. It’ll take your mind off the panic and anxiety in your chest, and you’ll feel better for it afterwards.
