Mirena AND Slynd?
« on: August 01, 2024, 10:13:14 AM »

Good day!

I've been bloated for yonks and after throwing a wobbly thinking I had ovarian cancer, my meno specialist said "you might be progesterone intolerant". FTR I've just had a ca125 test "for reassurance" and did have a scan in April so we're fairly positive my ovaries are fine.

I also had a bleed in April (hence the scan) so had the pipelle biopsy done, lining was 5mm, all fine. But since then I've had tiny little smears of blood and honestly, really, after all this time?  It's so draining psychologically.

I've got a mirena at the moment and my meno lady wants me to try slynd for 3 months as it has diuretic qualities and will help with the bleeding. But hang on a minute - won't two lots of progesterone make this worse? I didn't think to ask her yesterday when we spoke - you know what it's like. New information is given to you and it's only after you leave the surgery and look into it that you think of the questions.

My oestrogen level is about 380 so no issues there.

Ironically I've been taking tostran for 7 months to help with low libido (it has done NOTHING to help) and I see Slynd can "lower libido". How I laughed.  Not.

I mean, I'll give slynd a whirl but won't this be counterproductive if I already have a mirena?

HI! has no one suggested vaginal atrophy which can cause smears of blood on contact or on the loo paper?

Fortunately I've been spared vaginal atrophy so far

Where are the small smears of blood from?  VA can begin this way.

I genuinely do not have vaginal atrophy, trust me.

I've bled like this before and it's always a thickened endometrium.
