Sweating not flushing

Hi all, on utrogestan and lenzetto spray. Sweat is awful from my head, I work as a nurse and if I go into a warm house I am soaked on my head within seconds. Also hot days are miserable. On one utrogestan and two sprays lenzetto as estrogen was low but Gp solution is now to increase to three sprays and 2 tablets. I have explained it’s not flushes but she maintains I need to try this. Any advice?

I agree with the gp. I didn't recognise mine as flushes because I only got overheated from an external source (hot drink, heater etc), it never happened spontaneously. They went with hrt so were a symptom of oestrogen deficiency. Better to think of it as the thermoregulatory system misbehaving as we don't all the standard hot flush.

Increasing estrogen may well help, but I found myself super hot the 12 days I had to take utrogestan each month. Was told by someone on here that most progesterones are thermogenic (except one but you can't get it on its own in the UK), but I wouldnt say enough to cause the sweating you are describing. Are you on an ssri as well by any chance, because they can also increase sweating?

I've been on SSRIs since 1988 and never had a sweating problem

I am upping my dose in two weeks and psychiatrist told me yesterday that it is one of the more common things that can happen, that plus nausea and loss of libido.

Oh don't remind me about the nausea, it took 3 different ADs
in the 1980s B4 we found something that didn't cause it!
'common things that can happen' ........... I wonder where he got that from? Let us know if you find sweating becomes a problem.

It's on the patient information leaflet so is definitely a thing and is dose dependent. He's got decades of experience this guy, both NHS and private, it's why I picked him.

I have never had hot flushes or night sweats but I did have the most horrendous day time sweating problem which really got me down. It was incredible just how quickly I could go from normal to an all over body sweat. It was made worse by living in a hot climate and people saying "it's hot here, I'm sweating too". Sweating in air-conditioning and inability to adjust to different temperatures is another bad sign. Obviously I knew that what I was experiencing was a complete departure from normal sweating that everyone experiences.
I really hated it so I immediately started HRT (Angeliq then later Angeliq plus a 50 mcg oestrogen patch) but it didn't cut through because it was nowhere near strong enough so I went to Professor Studd who prescribed 3 pumps of Oestrogel and that finally stopped the horrendous sweating. I'm afraid you probably need a much higher oestrogen dose than than 2 sprays of Lenzetto (I struggled to get good oestrogen blood levels on three sprays of Lenzetto) and you might find you get better results by using Oestrogel.
The sweating gradually started when I was about 40 and suddenly became much worse age 44. Now 63 and many years post menopause, my thermostat is completely back to normal and I can keep menopause symptoms away and maintain an oestrogen blood level of 300 pmol with one pump of Oestrogel.
