Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone had been through the same issue of being prescribed unopposed estrogen while still being ‘intact’ (I hate saying that as it sounds like I’m a dog!)
I have been feeling so crappy recently and I found out last week I have been on the wrong patches for a year.
I’m currently waiting for a scan to make sure everything is ok but I can’t stop worrying.
Any words of wisdom gratefully received!

Please don't worry.

Endometrial cancer takes many years to develop.

When hormone therapy was first introduced none of it included progestogen as the impact on the uterine lining wasn't foreseen.

Some years later it became apparent that women with a uterus were developing hyperplasia, however this was still only a minority of those treated.

The vast majority of those having had estrogen only had no cancer. Also much higher doses were used back then too.

Ah thank you. I know I’m over worrying. Ironically I went to the gp for increased anxiety and depression and she dropped this on me! 
I’ll feel better once the scan date is in but you’ve helped to ease my mind
