There is very little out there on the gel alongside the coil and would love to hear others thoughts and experiences of this combination. I would have preferred a body-identical but I had life limiting bleeding and a coil has completely changed my life, despite the fact I was so against it.
I'm 51 and wouldn't say I have many other symptoms of menopause aside from the very short cycles and heavy bleeding, and maybe some joint pain (I do a lot of sport so this may also be contributing!).
However, I was without my gel for a month, and when I went back on it this week I developed crashing fatigue, like early pregnancy. Sleeping long hours. Joints do seem to be better.
I want to go back to my doctor because it definitely seems linked. I'm very very low in mood, and apathetic which is uncharacteristic. It just feels like the colour has gone out of my life.
Does the combination of levonorgestrel (Mirena) and oestrogel have the same impact for anyone else? I wonder if the mirena just doesn't' work for me alongside the oestrogel?
I'm having a scan next week to see if the coil is still there, but given I'm not flooding every 20 days for 7 days I think it is!
Need to be well informed as my doctor just basically listens to me then gives me what I ask for 🫣
