Ha ha!  I also like gaviscon but only the aniseed one.  Also found that the advance one is better for me.  Have you tried diaphragm breathing?  My gastro dr told me to give it a go because it can sometimes really help.  I keep forgetting to do it though.

I've been on and off PPIs for years and years but usually at the 15mg dose.  I am wondering if the ectopics could be a symptom of the reflux not the drug?  The ectopics could also just be good old perimenopause symptoms!!  Hard to know what's causing what at this time.

If I though surgery would cure my reflux problems, I'd have it in a heartbeat, but the dr said it's not big enough.  Think the hernia needs to be over 6cm and also not sure how successful the surgery is. xxxxxx

Thanks JoanneFran

I’ve looked up diaphragm breathing and will definitely give it a try. I agree. Peppermint gaviscon is vile, aniseed for me!

I eat too quickly  ;D - due to needing to get 'enough' grub into me in case the meal 'turns' and I can't face anymore.  I can tell myself that I've eaten 'well enough' [long story short].  So taking in air maybe some of my problem  ::)   Also I can no longer eat soup as it makes me very windy ...... perhaps overhaul your diet to see if there are triggers?

That's interesting re soup. I get windy when I swallow too much air when I'm eating, could that be what's happening with the soup? Or maybe the fibre. Strange things cause me wind these days.

I agree re the soup. Making my own, it’s always vegetable so no doubt has fibre in.   Still yummy and hang the consequences  :o

It was an easy meal when out and about, however many times after choosing soup with a bread roll I became nauseous in the afternoons = not able to eat until the next morning.  So stopped soups even those with good veg in.  And I can't eat eggs so that's 5 meals that I 'miss' in the week  ::). we don't over cook green veg either, in fact I prefer cauli raw.
