Could this all be menopause related
« on: April 01, 2024, 08:59:16 AM »

Morning

So as well as having menopausal symptoms. I also have Hashimotos and Asthma and have been having a flare for the past month which isn’t normal for me. Ended up in A&E had bloods and ECG nothing too serious flagged. However my breathings still bad and GP hasn’t offered much apart from trying a drug called Montelukast which I’m not sure is right for me due to side effects. I also don’t know now if it’s the asthma causing it or if it’s menopause related which is triggering this breathing problem due to increased anxiety! I have air hunger and tight chest throughout the day and at night I’m waking with a racing heart/anxiety and fear that I’m dying! Anyone else had similar and what’s helped?

Hi.  If U put 'hasimotos' into the Forum Search box I am sure that there are several threads which U may find of use.

Certainly peri-menopause can cause upheavals with other hormones.  Your GP should of course be referring you to a specialist.  U may have to push for the referral - have U been seen on a regular basis?
