I can’t use the usual meds for atrophy due to a bit of a rate reaction Have seen posts about Intrarosa
Don’t really know if this is an alternative Does anyone have any thoughts

Hi Kathryn22,

Yes, Intrarosa is an alternative, a pessary inserted with your finger every night made of DHEA that is converted into oestrogen and testosterone in the vaginal cells. For me it is now working well, it took six weeks, but I’m feeling good now - I can even have baths! Some people complain about discharge from it but I haven’t noticed anything much.

I also know that Louise Newson uses Intrarosa herself, she started using it due to recurrent UTIs.

I think it can be postcode lottery whether GPs will prescribe or not as it’s more expensive that Ovestin and Vagifem, but from personal experience I would say worth a try if you can get it.

Can intrarosa just be taken on its own, does anyone know? x

You can take Intrarosa alone, just like you can with Vagifem or Ovestin.
