Don't think they're bothered tbh...I've been waiting months not weeks and they still don't hurry it up. I think even the most patient of people would have cracked by now....I'm not usually this bad.

Thanks for checking in x

Thanks Nas,
I have rang the gynae department 7 times this afternoon...no answer at all.
Honestly don't know how much more of this I can take.

Hope you're doing ok this week  :)

Last year I ended up making a complaint to the hospital as I was the same calling when someone finally answered I was told my consultant was on holiday and he didn’t have a secretary I would have to wait until he was back.so I complained as it was having such an impact on my mental health,it had been 3mths in total.By the afternoon another consultant emailed me my results so don’t give up chasing them.

That’s ridiculous Northerngirl. Did you manage to leave a message on the answerphone. I work in a hospital and know for a fact that some of the secretaries just don’t answer the phone, even if they are there. It’s shocking.
Can you get the email address of the secretary or the department and try that?

Hi Donna69  who did you complain to? I feel like I might rock the boat if I do....if you know what I mean. They definitely don't realise what they do to you that's for sure

Hi, I didn't leave a message,  I could have but thought I'd just keep trying.  I'll try in the morning I think. I don't know what they could have been doing for that long they couldn't answer. This waiting is a nightmare!!

Time to rattle some cages? What do we think team MM?? Enough is enough. You have been waiting WAY too long. Do as Donna has done, make a nuisance of yourself.. do it. This is ridiculous and other consultants can access results etc

Nas, I wish I was the sort of person to kick up a fuss ....I really do, but I hate any sort of confrontation.  But I do think I might have to be a bit tougher.
I'm sort of torn because I am desperate for the result but at the same time dreading it...pathetic I know but I've gotten so anxious over all of this.

What hours do medical secretaries work anyway?

Unfortunately Northerngirl, we have to assert ourselves sometimes. That said, I totally understand your reluctance create confrontation.

Thing is, you need to know, for your own peace of mind. All this waiting around, does zero
for mental health.

I think medical secretaries often work 8.30-4.30 ( maybe until 5pm perhaps ?)

Go rattle some cages tomorrow? Tell them then you NEED to know the results 🤞🤞🤞x

Is there anywhere you could actually turn up to and ask? As in go to the hospital department you were seen by or is it all run behind the scenes?

Believe me the people who make a fuss get results. What about contacting PALS? They usually get things moving or even email the chief executive at the hospital. I’ve known people do that and things were escalated very quickly.

I can understand that you probably don’t want the added stress mind. Can your husband ring up and do it?

As for turning up at the hospital, I wouldn’t recommend it. I work in outpatients and the doctor might not be available or have a clinic running and the secretaries don’t see patients face to face. This happens occasionally and we just have to send them away.

Thanks ladies for your advice, I will definitely ring early tomorrow and keep trying until I speak to someone who can actually help.
The thing is the consultant told me it would take 2-3 weeks for results and it is only 2....so what do you all think??
On the other hand I've had 4 months of investigations in urology and now gynae so yes it is taking way too long.
What is PALS?
