Not as rare as we are told. Apparently. Lots of articles in the recent News but haven't seen any in today's holiday sections. That doesn't convince me littleminnie

They just want people to stop flying, same with cruising,in fact the way this country is going, they'll have us all living in mud huts,no cars,no holidays,oh won't life be fun

Think we'll have to keep seat belts on the whole journey on planes from now on, they're talikng about new rules.

Turbulence is very common but dropping into an air pocket is rare. We have flown hundreds and hundreds of times and only had one experience of bad turbulence (not an air pocket)
It just shows how robust the planes are though if they experience air pockets and just keep going.
You could just as easily get mowed down in the street or have a blow out in a car.
Each to their own though. 😀

Won't stop me flying, i usually leave my belt on loosely anyway but I suppose it's harder on long haul when you need to walk about a bit.

The Boeing 787-9 dreamliner experienced turbulence while airborne over Turkey, Dublin Airport's operator DAA said.
Upon landing shortly before 13:00 local time, Qatar Airways flight QR017 was met by emergency services including airport police, ambulance and fire officers.
Six passengers and six crew members reported injuries - of these, eight people have been taken to hospital.

Usually people only walk about when they are good to the bathroom. No it doesn’t rock at all. Some long haul flights have a bar you can walk to and sit at 😳
I normally put my headphones on and watch a film.
