Peri m - rant!
« on: January 09, 2024, 08:30:03 PM »

Just ranting..  Peri - wtf? Since turning 45 I feel like my body has been hijacked.
Symptoms are:
- hair loss
- erratic periods (heavy, light, intermittent, unpredictable af)
- spots on face that won't go away like roseaca (however you spell it lol)
- zero libido, like ZERO
- tender joints
- muscle aches
- tinnitus
Been in and out the doctors surgery more this last 6 months than in the last 20 years! Feeling a bit depressed about it all
as this could go on for what, another 10 years? Or more...
Keep thinking I've got some awful disease and my healthy anxiety is through the roof - urgh 😖 on loads of supps but nothing seems to make a noticeable difference.
Am I not too young for this shit?? Guess not 🙈😒
Anyway I just needed to rant, thanks for reading xxx

No one is too young !! thought many medics believe that women are.   Some girls have 1/2 periods then nothing after, some don't menstruate at all.  If there is a history of early perimenopause in the family history, 1 can expect 'earlier' rather than the mean age.

My periods waxed and waned for several years: would miss several months then back to 'normal'.  Then gone. I think that I was mid-later 40s.

U are going through The Change - does what it says on the tin.  Health anxiety is common.  Which supplements do you think that your body requires?

You rant away !

Hi Amber,

I hear you sister, apart from the period issues, I recognise all those horrible symptoms and a few more like awful itching, eyebags and a ring of flab round my middle.

Anyway. If you are interested in trying HRT,  I wouldn't delay it. Its been a game changer for me x

No such thing as 'too young'. My lovely cousin was fully menopausal at 28. My Auntie was fully menopausal at 36. I am thoroughly fed up that I'm still having regular periods at 53!

Sounds familiar! I had just turned 45 when the 'blips' I was having become a full on tsunami. I literally could not get out my bed. It was awful. You absolutely are not too young. I was - and still am - having regular periods and yet to have a proper hot flush - symptoms are so much more than that. I thought I had some disease or something more sinister and was in denial for at least the previous year about what was happening until I was barely functioning. Dont feel you have to suffer through it.
