Sarahkins - where do U buy your VitD supplement from, usually Pharmacies don't sell such a high dose as GPs might prescribe.

Propranolol can be taken as a continuous dose to ease anxiety.  I took 20mg at night to ease early morning surges which really helped.  How fast does it ease symptoms taking 'as necessary'?

Statins can affect kidney function.  I have to undergo annual blood tests to check.

I bought some Vitabiotics 1000iu Vitamin D and took it along with my usual cold liver oil, which has a small ammonia of vit D also. I just wasn't sure if it was maybe too much?

I've taken propranolol daily in the past for generalised anxiety but last year was prescribed it as and when needed. I take 40mg if I feel the anxiety is creeping upwards and it'll usually kick in after twenty minutes or so. Palpitations are normally gone and I can function more normally, no shaking etc. I can take up to three a day but never take this amount.

I had a chat with the nurse yesterday who was able to rationalise my kidney worries a little bit for me and it helped. I know I'm being very self involved with these worries and really want.to be rid of this anxiety.

Morning.  I see from another thread that you have been suffering with high levels of anxiety - so I suggest that you being taking the Propranolol every night to ease surges in daily anxiety.  Have U recently had a head cold?  or maybe this is low oestrogen levels which can reproduce light headed feelings.

Low oestrogen can also cause aches and pains because muscles may become lax.

Peri-menopause is difficult at times.  As hormones rise and fall - The Change - various symptoms seem to start or become worse.  Once we have been 12 months without a bleed we should be into menopause = last monthly period.

My periods waxed and waned for several years with gaps of months before a bleed began.  Then a few on the trot, then gaps.

I understand your fear of sleeping, I have very busy, involved dreams and sometimes would like to avoid them.  Sorry about your Dad - mayB keep notes about how you feel since he died, also have you thought of counselling.  I understand that Sue Ryder charity offer support.

..... and breath.

Thanks CLKD when the anxiety is bad I will usually take my maximum dose of propranolol which is up to 3 pills of 40mg per day. I normally do try to stagger them so morning midday and evening are covered. I'm still finding myself very anxious on waking on bad days.

I've had a couple of viruses the worst being a bout of flu back in February which went on for weeks. However the symptoms existed before this.

I do get unusually fatigued more recently but life has also been quite stressful too, so I'm never able to really pin down what's going on.

I'm in talking therapy now which does help to an extent.

Venting really helped me!

You R dealing with a lot of emotions.  Add hormonal upheaval to the mix !  be kind to yourself.  Rest when U R able.

I took Propranolol in the same way: 40mg 3 times a day.  Prior to the prescription I would wake: terrriifed: anytime after 3.00 a.m., probably cortisol surges - the waking hormone.  I would have to get up immediately, get dressed; then sit, staring at the lounge wall  :'(.  Propranolol certainly helped for several years.

Crashing fatigue: I remember Mum shutting off the cooker at tea time and sitting down, suddenly dropping off to sleep.  It was never talked about.

Thanks CLKD, I get a lot of support on here too which has stopped me from becoming completely untethered on several occasions.

I have the same thing you mentioned! Waking at 3am almost on the dot some nights and just being awake with my dread until the sun comes up. I'm stuck in a cycle of it at the moment which has gone on for months. The Propranolol does help but this seems to be a constant at the moment.

The fatigue is very recognisable too, although I tend to fall asleep straight after reading the bedtime story to my 5 yo, only to wake up and hour or so later feeling hungover!

I realise how ignorant I've been until now, assuming I was the one in control of my body! It feels alien to me these days.

Not ignorant at all.  As we grow up, in general, there are adults who will give advice.  As we age ...........  ::)

I would try the Propranolol night and morning for a week to C if that extra helps.
