Hi Midnight Shadow,
After the first three weeks of a pessary/day you went on to 2 pessaries/week. How long for? Did you notice any difference in the pain?
My symptoms started a year ago and, like you, I had the wrong treatments for 9 months. The initial symptoms got a lot better within the first two months with the help of a pelvic floor physiotherapist, but I still feel discomfort after a fortnight of nystatin and a fortnight of boric acid. This discomfort happens mainly during my period. I haven't done a test after these treatments and, therefore, I do not know if it is due to the yeast or to any harm the infection caused to the pelvis - the vagina was swollen and very tender, which made every swab very painful!
Do you think estriol helped reducing the pain? A few doctors mentioned estrogen cream but, I guess that due to my age and to the fact that my periods are still regular, they don't think I am in perimenopause. I feel a bit lost and losing hope. Everything takes a long time and it's very difficult to get a GP appointment.
I've been taking supplements for vaginal flora and some other tablets that claim to clear Candida infections. I am SO tired of this. The simple thought of having to go to a GP again because of this makes me cringe and sad...
