Of course you are scared.

What's the reason for mayB opting for such major surgery?   Get a good handle on what HRT may be required after.  Hopefully your Surgeon will know all about it!  Will the ovaries be removed at the same time?

What's the worst that could happen?

Hi goodgal
I am 3 weeks post op (TAH).
The waiting was the worst.
I had no choice but to have it done, everything is gone now. No HRT allowed.

What would be the reason for your hysterectomy? Are you on Hrt now? Would your ovaries be going too?

Once you go into theatre, that’s it, you are out of it.
Pain is manageable with painkillers.
I was up and about after 2/3 days, showering, washing my hair etc. No heavy lifting for a long while though.

Any questions, just ask 😊

I had a hysterectomy last year kept ovaries. Recovery was fairy good, I cried for about 2 weeks after hormones.

Every thing was good until 6-8mths after and bang it hit me peri menopause however looking back I think I was peri menopausal before the hysterectomy.

Am 10 weeks on HRT up and down with it, first had the worst headache then started with bad breast pain and armpit pain taking everything I can.

Am 44 had hysterectomy due to very large multiple fibroids, very heavy bleeding which affected my health.

Hope everything goes well for you x

I think most advise you to keep the ovaries now unless there's a reason to remove them?

Complex atypical endometrial hyperplasia  :Saw this on my report so the Uro gyn Oncologist suggested hysterectomy .Apparently it is like pre cancer but if left untreated can turn so best option is hysterectomy and during hysterectomy they will further biopsy the uterus to see if there is something else suspicious .If they find something they will do aortic lymph node sampling.Scarrry which means day of hysterectomy they will investigate further during the procedure 😞😞I am scared like crazy .Pray for me ladies please 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻God give me strength 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
