Hair loss with fluctuating estrogen
« on: December 05, 2023, 05:27:41 PM »

Hi,
I altered my Sandrina gel from 0 5 to 1.0 then back to 0.5.over a period of 2 wks. - I altered Progestetone level accordingly. ( I know - stupid!).

I am loosing hair from head, eye brows and eye lashes. Is this due to fluctuation ? (as above) Or, could it be the onset of using Clopidogrel (blood thinners due to tia?

Thankyou for your support you lovely people.

Hi Booblet!

Hair loss is horrible, especially during the holiday season.

There are many different reasons for hair loss.  You would need to see a doctor to know what's causing yours.  Telogen effluvium is temporary hair loss associated with stress, hormonal changes, medication, nutritional deficiencies, Covid, etc.

Info about drug induced telogen effluvium and when you can expect regrowth:

Info about different types of hair loss, including eyelash and eyebrow loss:

I experience shedding due to hormonal fluctuations, so whenever my MHRT regimen is changed, but I also have androgenetic alopecia (AGA or female pattern hair loss).  Hair loss is often multifactorial.  My hair follicles are sensitive to androgens and I don't absorb estrogen well.  I'm under the care of a dermatologist and responding well to treatment.
