Vaginal ultrasound
« on: December 06, 2023, 08:18:11 AM »

Hi ladies just wondering if any of you have experience on having a vaginal ultrasound? Does it hurt ? Do you get the results straight away or is it more waiting?
I've got one on Friday...not too worried but just anxious about how long this nightmare will go on with all the investigations. Any of you reading my posts will know this is my 3rd scan/procedure in 3 weeks and 2 months since this ordeal began due to blood in urine. I've been diagnosed with VA and started ovestin. I was already on oestrogel and utrogestan.

I think it depends on the person doing it.  For my first one, the person doing it wasn't particualry forthcoming but the results where with the doctor later the same day.  The other two (one was private) they explained everything they were doing and what they could see as they were doing it.  Hope that helps.

It's more anxiety than stress tbh. Another 2 week urgent referral looking for the big C again....thought I'd had the all clear when my ct scan and cytoscopy were clear. 2 months of anxiety not very nice but I'm sure you ladies are aware of this yourselves.  We just have to get on with it don't we. Really glad I found this forum or I'd have cracked under the pressure

I'll be thinking of you.  I always try to reason with myself that they're erring on the side of caution by checking everything, which is a good thing.  However, I still become a gibbering wreck while waiting for the appointment, then the test and then the results. This forum has certainly stopped me from cracking up at times.  Sending you big hugs xx :)
