Post menopausal scared pelvic pain
« on: November 10, 2023, 06:17:52 AM »

I have been lurking this site for some time now and reading your stories, this is my first time posting and just need to talk.
My background.
Last natural period feb 22, tried various hrt options between may - November 22 but decided it wasn’t for me and went it alone.
I started having right sided rib pain last year, went to docs was told stress etc, fast forward this year .. when I think about it I have been feeling a little bloated now and again - nothing major. The last 2 months I have had various symptoms of, watery discharge, pelvic pain, now thigh pain. And in between all that egg white discharge, as if I am ovulating. Since the discharge my hot flushes have stopped ( which seems too much of a coincidence, and my breasts are tender ) Finally got to see a doctor yesterday.. and obviously she has sent me for bloods with an urgent referral.
I think my right side hip area looks different to the left, but dr said she couldn’t feel anything.
Obviously I have used dr Google and OC came up, so my question is has anybody had these symptoms, and what else was it ? I’m preparing for the worse but hoping for the best. Dr wasn’t concerned about the pelvic pain at all which I found strange… she mentioned fibroids but how is this possible post menopause ? Has anyone had them ?

I think that your starting point is to discuss and obtain some type of localised HRT a cream or a pessary from your GP.  The white discharge is normal but the other is signs of Vaginal Atrophy.  Pains and some bloating that you are experiencing may well be from irritated nerves around the vaginal area.  I went to an acupunturist when my vulva was very irritated and she even found a trigger point in muscle under my armpit.  It seems irritated nerves can cause 'symptoms' elsewhere in the body away from the original site. An acupuncturist would look at you more as a whole to give you some possible answers via a different approach.  I am only mentioning this alongside seeing a GP not instead of.  All information you can obtain helps form picture.

Where is your urgent referral to ?

If you do a search there are many threads on Vaginal Atrophy.

Thanks you for you reply.. it has really helped. The urgent referral is the 2 week wait, for an appointment with gynaecologist, woman’s clinic for ultrasound. When I first started getting the clear watery discharge I did pop onto this forum and could see it was possibly VA symptoms as I have been feeling dry, so didn’t think anything more as it seemed common.
