Could I try Vagifem this way?
« on: October 26, 2023, 06:39:15 PM »

I’ve been using Vagifem twice weekly with some good results for VA (with Oestrogel and Utrogestan regime) but… while it’s now totally comfortable deeper inside where the pessary sits, I still have a bit of a soreness around the opening/lips.

I didn’t get on with Ovestin in this area. A menopause specialist suggested Blissell instead.

But I wondered if I could otherwise try putting the Vagifem in shallower on some occasions, along with daily vaginal moisturiser. I think I’ve seen some posts about changing where you put the Vagifem so that the oestrogen gets to all parts? I figure that I know Vagifem works, why not just use more of that and/or change the placing of it?

You can use vagifem daily if you have to and yes,try not putting it in so high,it shouldn't fall out xx

Thank you. I’m not sure I’d even need to use it more than three times a week as it’s working so well at the moment but will try varying the location of it and see how I go with that with three a week.

Its absolutely fine to put the Vagifem lower down if its comfortable to do so.

Once while I waited for my prescription of Ovestin to be filled, in desperation I tried to crush a Vagifem pessary with a small amount of moisturiser but that little critter is so hard I didn't have much success. If you have a good strong pestle and mortar you might have more luck than me and use it to rub on the outside.

I have been thinking about this recently, to place the vagifem tablet just in the inside of my opening to help my prolapse there. (Asked about it on a thread).
I thought it would be a good idea as pushing it right in to the top all the time would only help the top and not the bottom where I need it.

I use vagifem every night and vary the position. If you have bladder problems then place it on the bladder wall, just above the pubic bone. There are lots of receptors inside the vagina high and low so use them all.

Thank you! Luckily no bladder issues for me, it’s just discomfort lower down so will try it out.
