AD is unlikely to cause nightmares.  If U think how we feel when the body runs a temperature, mayB flushing is enough to cause bad dreams?

Oh Penguin, bless you.  Good to know you have an appt with an understanding GP for tomorrow.  Yes, maybe put morning Utro dosing to him if you'd like to try that & want his approval.

We've all been there with the poking & prodding when HA makes us nuts.

Good too that you're aware of how blood sugar issues affect you, as nutrition's something you can experiment with to help yourself feel more in control.

Let us know how you get on with the GP & I hope you have a much better night tonight.

Thanks, I think I'm just going to do 100mg tonight, can't face the full dose again, perhaps it'll make a difference.

No I don't think the AD has anything to do with it, I started that a good six months before the hrt and the nightmares have only been recent. I've got all the upstairs windows open this evening so we'll see how I go with a cold room!

A cool blower?  Ours has been great during hot weather and actually lulls me to sleep  ::)

Good idea, we haven't put the fan back in the loft for winter yet!

Will do, GP is 10am tomorrow. Hoping he has some ideas. And now he also needs to look at my nipples given how sore I have made them by squeezing and prodding them 🙈😥

Well, I took 100mg only last night and slept from 945pm until nearly 4am which is nearly two hours more than previous nights. I was still hot but the sheet and fan helped and it was more like vivid dreams than actual nightmares so I do think a bit of an improvement. I feel more rational with more sleep which helps as my HA is easier to manage. Yesterday I just spiraled.

I was thinking of switching the utrogestan to mornings, wondering what you thought of that? Hubby worked out with half life it'd be half metabolised by the time I go to bed.

Thank you for asking, makes me feel less alone. Hubby is amazing but he doesn't know how to help me and with the HA stuff (especially the compulsions i get when its bad) I'm too ashamed to talk to most of my friends.

Well, that's an improvement Penguin.

I used Utro both orally & vaginally but never tried it in the morning.  You could maybe set up a thread asking for experiences if others have tried it that way.  Queries I would have are depending on how quickly it dissolves would you get adequate absorption if the residue drains out quicker than when lying down overnight.  Also, depending on bowel habit/timing, I wonder the muscular activity of a BM could cause the Utro to be expelled.  I find that sometimes happens with Vagifem.  Even though I insert it at night, sometimes it comes out more or less intact next morning when I go to the loo.  I do fairly shallow insertion of Vagifem though & you'd insert Utro as far as you could I imagine.  Actually - maybe you mean taking it orally in the morning?  Sorry, I seem to have lost the plot!

Your hubby sounds fab  :), but yes they can feel a bit helpless in the circs.  Many women on here know the distress of HA, so please don't feel ashamed.

You are certainly not alone with this, Penguin, so do post whenever it helps.

I hope the GP appt goes well.

Back from the GP. He won't do anything about the utrogestan this month as I'm mid way through, although he did say there are options such as patches,  and he agreed (from my history with bad pms) that progesterone may be a problem for me. He wants me to try increasing estrogel to two pumps on the days I'm taking the utrogestan so it may help counteract some of the negative effects. We are also trialling an increase of the citalopram from 10mg to 20mg to see if that helps the anxiety.

Wrensong we had a brief chat about moving utrogestan to the morning but agreed it wouldn't be wise for the reasons you said, plus on searching MM I found posts from discogirl about how she had bad feelings of dread taking it in the morning and I'd rather not risk it atm.

Breast exam was normal as we'd assumed it would be. I've traumatised my nipples with the excessive hard squeezing and poking though so I need to leave them alone to heal.

Get some Sudacrem onto those nipples or a soother that nursing Mums would use.

Do U feel listened to?

Yes CLKD, I do. Both on here and by the GP, I feel very appreciate given the hard time some people have accessing good care. I wrote it all down on my phone and handed it to him to read. My husband was in with me. He was very patient and didn't rush me, I was defo over my time slot.

I do actually have Sudocream so will put that on. Its not likely to clog the pores is it?  GP said they are visibly bruised and likely still inflamed on the inside too.

A very little amount will ease the soreness.  It won't matter as you will be washing it off ......... or Savlon?
