Qlaira for Perimenopause
« on: June 06, 2023, 03:46:45 PM »

Hello all, I wanted to start a new thread specifically for this subject. I am 45 and started HRT last Autumn for perimenopause symptoms. I have been using 2 pumps of estrogel and sequential utrogestan. Although life is greatly improved on HRT I believe I am still suffering quite a bit with fluctuations. So, after some research, I decided to try Qlaira and my doctor prescribed it for me today. I wanted to create a thread so I can share my experience with it and see if anyone else wants to discuss it too.

Updating to say I'm six weeks in and all pretty good so far. Both months around mid month I have felt off colour (nothing compared to how I felt pre. HRT which was ghastly) and I'm guessing at this point in the cycle some of my own errant hormones are running amok and the Qlaira is not quite enough to override them. However, the rest of the month is stable. My period was very light. Two days of brown/bloody discharge, half a day of 'proper' period and then another day of the brown/bloody discharge. Just enough to feel that I have had a period but a blessed relief compared to the heavy periods I have experienced for years that left me severely iron deficient and borderline anaemic. Currently I'm thinking this is the best solution for the stage I am currently at (peri) and my age (46).

Hi summerbat, are you using this in addition to the estrogel and utrogestan?

I am suffering with the same peri fluctuations and actually the few days leading up to mid morning are actually my worst, so do think it is my own cycle overriding as well. Would love to find a way to level things out a bit more.
