Hello!  It has taken approx 2 years to get a doc to agree to giving me testosterone to try for extremely low libido and and general meh-ness.  When the Doc rang me, she said she was going to prescribe sachets, decided that 1/8th of a sachet was messy and ridiculous and found a measured pump action Tostran instead... over a week later, Boots inform me that there is a problem getting hold of Tostran, they asked that the Doc re-prescribe suggesting Testogel 16.2mg/g gel.  SO, I rang docs, asked receptionist to convey the message... I have my prescription now (after the pharmacist gave me the 3rd degree and said she had no idea if this was proper, she had never prescribed it for a female before) lol

Testogel 40.5mg/2.5g sachets, 1/8 sachet a day (approx 5mg).   

Is that right? 40.5mg seems high?  I don't want to turn into an angry spotty bald (horny) werewolf  Anyone else on Testogel on the same dose?

Oh my goodness as if we all don't have enough to cope with, without pharmacists giving you the third degree.

It's scary really how little some of the medical profession know about hrt.

At least you have your testogel now, I'm really sorry I can't give an answer regarding dosage as I don't use testosterone gel.

I hope you get sorted on it.

Yes, I use Testogel sachets and one eighth of a sachet daily is the correct dose. You will soon get the hang of judging the right amount. Secure the open top of the sachet with a paperclip and store upright in the fridge.

Thank you both of you for taking the time to reply. Joaniepat -where do you find the best place to rub it in and also morning or night? I just happen to have some really small syringes with caps on, so I may have a go at drawing all of the sachet into the syringe and figure out the 1/8.  Once i get the hang of the size, I guess it will be pretty easy straight from the sachet.

I use it on inner thighs, alternating sides. You can also use inner arms, rubbing wrists together. Abdomen just above the pubic hairline is another option. Some people apply to the inner arch of the foot. I've found inner thigh works well for me, and I apply in the morning. Good luck with the syringes, I've never tried that.

I am So glad I have just read this thread. I was using Trostan- a pump every other day. There were supply issues so I was given testo gel. I haven't started using it yet as the pharmacy managed to find some Trostan, but gave me the testogel anyway. The instructions on the box say a 1/4 of a sachet daily- so that is 10mg! Double the dose I should be taking apparently!!!
I have just read online that the previous strength that was discontinued in 2022 was HALF of the new one. So I have been prescribed something based on old info. Do you think I should contact the surgery about this?

I used Tostran from Aug 2022, because Testim was not available then. Now I needed new supply, turns out Tostran not available so got Testogel..

I take testosterone since ca 20..14, I think. It did me good, felt way better. My dose was 1 tube per week/ one sachet / week. Then all shortages started ...

Last Dec. I was called for a blood test, first ever to check testo level, and was told there are new guidelines, and so I must decrease my dose to two pumps (Tostran) per week. (took one every second day). I said ok and did that. With that Testogel now, suppose to take 1/4 twice a week..

I now have as much energy as a dead cat!

My meno-dr who I was with 11 years now left NHS..

I have a small surplus so intend to try from next week to add an extra dose / week, and see what happens. If I'll punch someone I'll decrease👍😉

I am reading the above posts and wonder... Where they all take these dosages from?!

Hi I've just started this wk on testogel. Think I've used too much. 5 days in and only one dose left in sachet i think. Any advice on how to measure it out would be great. Also how long to show signs of working??
